Help Keep Renton Safe

Connect Renton is a new public safety program enabling Renton residents to help keep their community safe.

Registering your camera greatly enhances emergency preparedness by enabling police, fire, and public safety professionals to better assess and respond rapidly to criminal activity and emergencies. It will also enable investigators to easily gather evidence in case of an incident. Registering does not grant police access to your video.

LEVEL 1: Register Your Cameras

Let’s work together to keep our community safe. Connect Renton’s voluntary camera registry helps investigators locate and request video evidence quickly when incidents occur in your neighborhood. By registering, you're simply letting officers know a camera exists at your location — nothing more.

Registration is simple, secure, and takes less than a minute. If a crime occurs near your location, a Renton Police Department investigator may contact you by email to request your assistance in solving it.

You stay in control. Registering does not grant the Renton Police Department access to your live or recorded video, and if an investigator does reach out, sharing footage is always your choice.

Together, we can strengthen public safety, one connection at a time.

LEVEL 2: Integrate Your Cameras

Businesses and residents can take community security one step further by giving the Renton Police Department direct access to your camera feed in case of a nearby emergency.

All you need is a small CORE device that you plug into your camera system.

Please complete Level 1 (Camera Registry) before proceeding to Level 2 (Camera Integration). If you have previously registered your security cameras, please go directly to Step 2 to purchase CORE devices.
